The Land App utilses digital maps to help farmer and landowners manage their land. As part of a suite of tools the Land App includes an agoroforestry planner designed to help farmers and landowners visualise and plan out their in-field trees.
The tool allows a specific field to be selected and a plan consisting of alley strips or uniform grids of trees to be generated. This plan will automatically take into account public footpaths, orientation, elevation, and existing vegetation. Users can also specify the distance between trees to allow for machinery use and the width of headlands. Tree types can be customised, i.e. fruit, broadleaved, conifer etc. The density of tree planting can also be specified to fit within the SFI or CS agroforestry options.
