SAFE project

Silvoarable agroforestry with poplars and cereals

The EU Silvoarable Agroforestry For Europe (SAFE) project, coordinated by INRA (Montpellier), ran from 2001-2005.  It explored how trees could be introduced, and maintained, in arable systems in Europe.

UK organisations involved with the project included the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, Cranfield University and the University of Leeds.
